On-site Diagnostics
Cancer Diagnosis
Early diagnosis and treatment of cancer and blood disorders is associated with the best outcomes in many cases. In San Bernardino, California, Inland Hematology Oncology Medical Group offers on-site bone marrow biopsy and many lab tests that provide our physicians with instant answers.
Bone Marrow Biopsy
A bone marrow biopsy is used to obtain a sample of the bone marrow and blood cells to check for disease, blood disorder, or cancer. Bone marrow, which produces blood cells, is located inside the larger bones in the body. A bone marrow biopsy may be ordered if lab tests indicate certain abnormalities in any of the components of blood, including red cells, white cells, or platelets.
A bone marrow biopsy is performed as an in-office outpatient procedure at the Inland Hematology Oncology Medical Group. It is most frequently obtained from the hip. After the skin is numbed, a special needle is used to take a core sample of the bone marrow.
Labs
We offer on-site labs for the convenience of our patients and physicians. Our on-site lab allows patients to receive the assessments they need at our San Bernardino location. Because our lab is on site, our doctors can order many tests instantly and receive prompt results.
